Arrived early, registered (for the advertised 25 mile trip) and took off on the supposed 27 mile trip. 8 miles in and one winery under our belts and Fred realizes his pedal is falling off. We stop for him to tighten it and he finds that it's actually stripped. So he thinks he can make it back to the bike shop and he was close. After riding 2+ miles in heavy traffic his pedal falls off a block from the shop.
The bike guys fixed his pedal in about 15 minutes showed us a shortcut to get back on the trail and we took off. After looking more closely at our map I discovered it was actually a 28.2 mile course. We met up with the group at the third winery stop and by the time we got to lunch we had 25 miles under our belts.
The last 6 miles back to the start was with a strong head wind and several hills but we made it and will definitely be back next year and the year after that and the year after that. I plan to collect 10 more of these shirts.
